Former 4-star says Alabama’s offensive line can be ‘really good’ in the upcoming fall
Gary Cosby Jr.-Tuscaloosa News / USA TODAY NETWORK

Is this the year Alabama football fans will see its first Joe Moore Award offensive line since 2020?

A former four-star prospect in the Crimson Tide’s 2023 recruiting class was one of three student-athlete that joined head coach Kalen DeBoer on Monday for his first-ever “Hey Coach” show.

Wilkin Formby, an alumnus of Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., earned first-team reps at right tackle through spring practice. He played well on A-Day, but he is more so expecting to see his group dominate the opposition in the fall.

After giving up 44 sacks of Jalen Milroe last year, Formby told Roger Hoover of Crimson Tide Sports Network this offensive can be ‘really good’ in the upcoming fall.

“We can be very successful,” Formby said. “We have a lot of guys on the inside coming back, and we are looking in the transfer portal at Kadyn Proctor. He is a beast too. I think we can be very successful. If we have a big summer and do what we are supposed to do in the offseason, we will be successful.”

People are excited about the passing game for Alabama’s offense, but Formby said the Tide can run the football.

‘We can run the football, for sure,” Formby said.

“We have the best backs. We have great running backs. They make us look better than what we are, honestly. That is another part about how successful our offensive line will be is based off how good are running backs are.”

Tide fans want to see the passing game and physicality in the rushing attack be exceptional.
