Draft analyst predicts Washington WR Rome Odunze will win OROY if he is drafted by this team

The 2024 NFL Draft is rich with quarterback and wide receiver talent, which may force some of the class' top prospects to drop further than they would in other years.

One of those players could be Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze given that he is viewed by most of the "experts" as the third-best prospect at his position behind Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU's Malik Nabers.

If Odunze does fall a little further than expected, The Ringer's Benjamin Solak believes a wide receiver-needy playoff team could trade up for him.

"Would not be surprised to see the Bills make the huge trade-up for the wide receiver," Solak said on "Up & Adams." "You cannot walk into next season throwing the ball to Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins. Can't do it. I like Khalil Shakir, but we need a wide receiver one in Buffalo if you're going to be the scary team that we've been over the last several years."

It will prove very costly for Buffalo to make such a move, as it currently owns the No. 28 overall pick, but there's no arguing that the team has a glaring hole at the position after trading four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans earlier this offseason.

Odunze would help fill Diggs' void and then some after posting 167 receptions for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns the past two years at Washington.

Solak believes paired with QB Josh Allen, Odunze could reach his full potential sooner rather than later and would be in a great position to win one of the top yearly awards.

"I will own a Rome Odunze Offensive Rookie of the Year ticket within five minutes of the trade," Solak stated." "Rome is so good. The thing about Rome is that he's steady, he's reliable."

That's quite the bold statement with several quarterbacks likely to contend for the award, which is typically won by a signal-caller. However, the Bills would be one of the best spots for Odunze to land and have an immediate impact.

Solak thinks a potential trade would be dependent on Odunze falling within pick Nos. 8-10, but anything feels possible in this year's draft outside of the Chicago Bears passing on USC QB Caleb Williams with the first overall pick.
