The Washington Commanders added another veteran quarterback to the roster with a few weeks to go before the 2024 NFL Draft. With the No. 2 pick they currently hold, the Commanders are expected to take a quarterback.
The Commanders will likely choose between Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye. The rookie quarterback could sit behind a veteran quarterback battle this fall. The Commanders signed Marcus Mariota as a potential starter when they traded Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks.
According to a team statement, the Commanders signed Jeff Driskel to the roster for the upcoming season.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Driskel in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, and Cleveland Browns.
Driskel started for the Browns in the last week of the 2023 regular season when the team rested their starters for the playoffs. He went 13/26 passing for 166 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the loss to the Bengals.
Driskel has started in 12 games in his eight-year NFL career. He’s 229/391 passing for 2,394 yards, 16 touchdowns and ten interceptions. Driskel will join Mariota and Jake Fromm in the quarterback room.
