Detroit Red Wings Trade Forward to San Jose

The Detroit Red Wings are getting set to take on the Arizona Coyotes tonight as they are coming off a tough 7-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night. Earlier today there was a report that Jonatan Berggren was getting called up which likely indicated that there was going to be a move coming and there was as the Red Wings have traded forward Klim Kostin to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Radim Simek and a seventh-round pick in 2024.

Red Wings Trade By The Numbers

Jonatan Berggren

Berggren this season has played in nine games with the Red Wings, and he has five points in those games coming on two goals and three assists. In Grand Rapids he had played in 43 games and has 46 points coming on 19 goals and 27 assists; he leads the team in all three categories.

Klim Kostin

Kostin was traded to the Red Wings by the Edmonton Oilers, and he signed a two-year deal with the Red Wings. He had played in 33 games and had four points on three goals and an assist, he had been a healthy scratch for much of the season.

Radim Simek

Simek is playing with the San Jose Barracuda in the AHL he has played in 40 games and he has 16 points coming on four goals and 12 assists, he also has a power-play goal. He last played in the NHL in 2022-23 playing in 44 games and he recorded three points on a goal and two assists.
